Our Story

Our team at Investigative Inspection Services has more than 40 years of combined experience.

Stanley Yeskolski is an expert inspector of brick, stone, roofing, EIFS, and stucco exteriors, with vast experience in moisture intrusion causation inspections and mold sampling. Stanley is qualified in court as an expert in construction, EIFS, stucco, building inspection, mold contamination, and identification/ assessment of water damage.

Over the course of his career, Stanley has become a national-level industry leader. He wrote certification standards, assessment questions, professional education curriculum, and assessment/remediation protocols for numerous industry organizations. He is a certified professional with the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industries, Exterior Design Institute, Moisture Warranty Corporation, Building Specs, Inc., Indoor Environmental Standards Organization, and American Indoor Air Quality Association.

Instruction

In addition to his own work with inspections, Stanley teaches other professionals. He is a veteran instructor to inspectors and professionals from various fields since 2000.  Stanley currently teaches construction practices, inspection methodology, use of moisture meters, EIFS risk assessment, moisture intrusion inspection, moisture risk assessment for insurance underwriting purposes, advanced roofing, and mold sampling/inspection protocols for national certification.

Notable Recognitions

Within first year of entering the inspection business, Stanley was awarded the contract to perform the Exterior Insulated and Finish Systems (EIFS) inspections for Pulte Home Corporation, the largest homebuilder in the nation, in their Northern Virginia and Maryland communities.  Upon completion of the EIFS inspections, Stanley was then hired by Pulte to participate in the development of scope of work for repairs and training for the contractors as well as inspections and testing during the repair process. Stanley has continued consulting with Pulte on roofing problems and potential repairs.

Investigative Inspection Services was designated by Building Specs, Inc., of Stevensville, MD, a national home inspection and training company, as the company to handle their EIFS inspections. They have also hired us to develop and teach mold inspection and sampling, EIFS inspections, and other specialty or advanced sections of home inspector training courses.  Stanley has been teaching for Building Specs, Inc., since September of 1999.

Recently, Stanley worked at Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base on the hurricane Florence disaster recovery team in the position of a Senior Industrial Hygienist on a contract for NAVFAC under ECC and Meadows CMPG, Inc.

moisture inspection

We investigate moisture problems utilizing state-of-the-art equipment to provide a comprehensive review of moisture intrusion causes and effects. Our team will help you understand the problem and recommend an effective course of remediation.

mold inspection

Mold can damage your property and harm your health. IIS can ascertain the causes and extent of mold growth in residential and commercial properties, using a combination of visual inspection, moisture testing, and mold sampling. We will then advise on a proper course of remediation.

exterior building inspections

We provide comprehensive assessment of installation and moisture problems with building envelopes. Our expertise includes all types of exterior finishes, including EIFS, stucco, stone (natural and manufactured), brick, cedar, vinyl, and HardiePlank siding.

roof inspections

A roof is one of the most expensive investments in your home. We can inspect the installation or investigate moisture problems related to all types of roofing materials, including shingles (asphalt, wood, slate, tile, copper, architectural), roll roofing, built-up asphalt roofing, modified bitumen roofing, EPDM and TPO roofing.

air sampling

Do you know what’s in the air you breathe? IIS conducts indoor air investigations and sampling to evaluate problems related to mold/moisture contamination, allergens, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), infestations, and more. We provide a detailed report of the laboratory analysis.

construction analysis

IIS investigates construction and installation issues, providing failure analysis in situations where installation method, product design, or material defect has led to problems. We also conduct on-site field testing of window and wall components, providing analysis and scope for remediating the problem.
